Greetings from Mr. Self:

I am an Oklahoma native and grew up in Wewoka.  My wife and I have been married for 35 years, and we have lived in Edmond for the last 29 years.  We have two daughters and 2 bonus sons! Our oldest daughter and her husband live in Stockholm, Sweden. Our youngest and her husband moved back home to be close to us and have blessed us with our only granddaughter.  I love OU sports, golf, and cooking BBQ on my smoker. My wife and I love to travel, be with our friends and family, and babysit our granddaughter.

This will be my 24th year to work for Edmond Public Schools.  I started coaching football for EPS three years before I started teaching.  I taught math in middle school, primarily Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra, for 20 years.  I initially taught and coached at Summit for 17 years before moving to Heartland MS to help open their new school. I was at Heartland for 3 years.

I am thrilled for the opportunity to come back to Summit Middle School.  I have considered Summit my work home for the last two decades. I feel like Summit is a place where I can make a positive impact and it makes me excited to start this journey. Summit is the perfect fit for me to start my journey as an administrator. I look forward to inspiring our scholars, as well as building relationships with the teachers and staff. I love Summit and look forward to this school year.
