Purpose:
To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life. To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society. To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today’s society.
National FCCLA Competitive STAR Events:
Ava Bryant, 8th grader, competed in a National FCCLA STAR Event Competition called Digital Stories for Change. The competition initially took place online with FCCLA member entries from all over the United States. Ava placed in the top 8 competitors for her division and has been invited to compete in person at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in San Diego, California during the Summer of 2022.
Ava’s project was over Mental Health Awareness and the effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on mental health overall. Ava has spent an incredible amount of time and effort researching and preparing for this competition. It is an honor for Ava to represent Summit Middle School, Summit FCCLA, and Oklahoma FCCLA at the national level. View her project below:
Recognitions:
STAR event competitor Tyce Myers received 3rd place at FCCLA state STAR Event competitions in the event Event Management.
STAR event competitors Kinzie WAlker, Jocelyn Bufford, and Sophia Reams received 2nd place at FCCLA state STAR Event competitions in the event Sustainability Challenge.

Purpose:
Summit’s Musical Productions class is the perfect place for students who love acting, singing, and dancing. Students have the opportunity to learn more about musical theater productions while putting on a production. Seventh grade students perform a series of pieces from several well-known musicals, while eighth grade students put on a full-length musical.
School Play Auditions:
Auditions for the 2022-2023 school play are being held on Wednesday, September 21st, after school. Students interested in auditioning must pick up the required paperwork from Mrs. Burkhart’s room.

Purpose:
We are a student lead STEM organization for 6-8th grade students. We attend regional and state level competitions. We spend time researching, planning and working on our projects. We are the future engineers, scientists, mathematicians, technologist, computer scientists and business leaders of the modern world.

Tuesday from 2:15pm – 3:00pm
